The NYTimes put out this chart today to try to show how much money is getting thrown around in these elections. Perhaps one of the most disconcerting aspects of it is how much anonymity can be preserved through these nonprofits. So private individuals or corporations could be putting millions into getting certain people elected or into destroying the image of certain incumbents without even identifying themselves. Essentially, banks, CEOs, rich profit barons can be secretly buying the elections.
