Troop surge in Afghanistan? What should we think?

Is it a good idea to be sending another 30,000 troops to Afghanistan? Will this bring us closer to closure there? Will it help us “win?” How much will it cost? Do the Afghan people think this would help? Can the US afford to continue war there?

These following clips, of a documentary just released by Brave New World, are essential viewing. They do an excellent job of bringing home the reality of the war, its strategical failures, its effects on the Afghan people, and its cost to Americans. If you only have time for two, watch the one on women in Afghanistan (10:00) and the costs (to the US people) of the war (trailer below is 2:00). Here is the site where you can see them all.
