Krugman on budget deficit

In his weekly NYTimes column, Harvard economist Paul Krugman tells us to chill out about budget deficits. It has been obvious for a long time we were gonna need to be in the red for the next few years. If TV commentators makes it sound like the sky is going to fall, its because they prefer drama to responsibly informing the public.

    The fact that people are freaking out precisely illustrates your point in the earlier post about reporting turning into sound-bites. Thoughtful, substantiated exchanges are rarely given a space in which to occur. Drama is right.
